The Interfaith Emergency Winter Shelter depends largely on volunteers to keep its doors open.  The first step for volunteers is to attend training. All volunteers are required to attend training, including those who were involved in previous years or who have experience at other shelters.

If you would like to attend a training session, but none of these is convenient for you, or, if you represent a group of people who would like to be trained, a time and place that would work for you can likely be arranged. Please contact Dan Watts at wattbush@gmail.com or 732-939-9426.

Please note:

  • Volunteers must be 18 years or older, or must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian while volunteering and at training. People who are less than 18 years old may volunteer for the set-up shifts only.
  • Individual training sessions can easily be scheduled. To do so, please contact Daniel Watts at wattbush@gmail.com or 732-939-9426.
